Mild temperatures are poised to give way to colder weather in the coming weeks with higher electricity demand expected as a result.

The very mild temperature pattern that has dominated the Eastern half of the U.S. throughout the month is poised to give way to colder weather as the calendar rolls to December. The lower temperatures should result in higher electricity demand across major markets and could lead to higher electricity price volatility in the weeks ahead.
