Natural gas futures traded back near recent highs this week, with the prompt-month contract pushing briefly above $3.50 per MMBtu on Thursday. The 190-Bcf storage withdrawal announced for the week ended December 6 was the largest on record for this early in the winter season. LNG exports are near capacity as overall demand is showing significant year-over-year gains. Production is up from pre-winter lows but is still sitting below year-ago levels.
