Natural gas futures were higher for the third straight week even as the market settled well off of the highs established overnight into Friday. The first major cold pattern of the winter is on the way, but some late-week models suggest that the cooldown may be relatively short lived. Meanwhile, production is responding to higher cash prices and rising demand, pushing back above 101 Bcf per day this week in an indication that producers are being very responsive to near-term price signals.
