• Natural gas futures were mixed last week, with the September 2026 NYMEX contract gaining $0.07 to $2.73 per MMBtu. Winter 2026–27 slipped $0.02 to $3.41.

• The EIA reported a 36-Bcf storage injection, lifting inventories to 3,153 Bcf. The surplus to the five-year average widened to 198 Bcf, while stocks remained just 25 Bcf below year-ago levels.

• Dry gas production moved decisively higher, averaging 112.4 Bcf per day, up 1.0 Bcf per day for the week and 2.6 Bcf per day from last year.

• Hot weather kept electricity demand elevated, including near-record ERCOT load, but strong solar generation and battery output continued to limit stress on conventional generation and wholesale pricing.
