Natural gas futures push higher ahead of another round of cold.

- Natural gas futures recovered ground last week ahead of another cold snap expected for key population centers in the coming weeks

- Temperature patterns are expected to shift back to the cold side in the immediate term, but forecasts for the next two weeks currently do not show any cold nearing the intensity of what was recorded in January

- Spot energy prices fell across the entire country last week, but the Northeast continues to see much higher gas and power costs than any other market area

- Domestic natural gas production continued to firm last week, as output rises amid a more favorable price environment helping to offset higher exports and strong domestic demand
