Natural Gas Storage: +95 Bcf
The smallest weekly build since April still outpaced historical benchmarks.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a weekly injection of 95 Billion Cubic Feet (Bcf) in Lower 48 natural gas storage inventories for the week ending June 13, 2025 (Link). Total inventories now stand at 2,802 Bcf, 233 Bcf (7.7%) below year-ago levels and 162 Bcf (6.1%) above the 2020-2024 average for the same week.
The streak of triple-digit builds came to an end at 7 weeks, but the EIA still reported a relatively large 95-Bcf injection into underground natural gas storage for the week ended June 13. The build outpaced last year and the five-year average, which both showed additions of 72 Bcf for the report week. As a result, the surplus to the five-year average expanded yet again to 162 Bcf, while the deficit to last year shrunk to its lowest level since early February at 233 Bcf. Since April, inventories have been growing at an average pace of more than 3 Bcf per day faster than each of these benchmarks.
