The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a weekly injection of 77 billion cubic feet (Bcf) into Lower 48 natural gas storage inventories for the week ending October 30, 2026 (Link). Total inventories now stand at 3,801 Bcf, 109 Bcf (2.8%) below year-ago levels and 54 Bcf (1.4%) above the 2021-2025 average for the same week.
The EIA reported a build of 77 Bcf for the final week of October. The injection was broadly in line with the 80 Bcf build reported for the previous week and the 77 Bcf addition two weeks earlier. This string of steady builds comes amid continued mild weather across most of the country, with inventories regaining some lost ground relative to historical benchmarks over the past two reports. Bearish fundamentals during the report week resulted in an injection substantially larger than the 39 Bcf added during the same week in 2025 and the five-year average build of 61 Bcf.
