Today’s reported 67-Bcf build in natural gas storage inventories fell below market expectations and was 18 Bcf below last week’s build. This marks the ninth consecutive storage injection that lagged the 5-year average, a continued erosion of the surplus to the widely-followed 5-year average benchmark from 198 Bcf for the week ending August 7 to just 45 Bcf for this report week.
