Natural gas storage inventories fell by 38 Bcf during the week ending December 26, 2025. The draw from storage was smaller than usually seen during this time of year due to mild temperatures across much of the U.S. limiting natural gas demand for heating. The inventory pull helped total stockpiles move back above the 5-year average inventory level after losing that widely-followed benchmark the prior week. Inventories remain below year-ago levels, but narrowed the deficit to 2024 stocks.
