Today’s EIA report showed a 28-Bcf build in underground natural gas inventories. The injection was light relative to the year-ago benchmark and nearly in line with the five-year average. It was also the smallest reported build of the injection season to date. Weekly injections have exceeded the five-year average in seven of the past nine reports. The surplus to the five-year average expanded by 2 Bcf, while the deficit to 2025 stocks doubled from 16 Bcf to 32 Bcf.
