Natural Gas Storage: -144 Bcf
Withdrawal comes in lighter than historical benchmarks due to reduced heating needs.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a weekly withdrawal of 144 billion cubic feet (Bcf) in Lower 48 natural gas storage inventories for the week ending February 13, 2026 (Link). Total inventories now stand at 2,070 Bcf, 59 Bcf (2.8%) below year-ago levels and 123 Bcf (5.6%) below the 2021-2025 average for the same week.
This morning’s EIA report showed a net withdrawal of 144 Bcf from underground natural gas stocks. This reflects a significant reduction in demand compared to the previous three report weeks, which saw inventories drawn down by a record volume. The withdrawal came in modestly lighter than the five-year average, which shows a decline of 151 Bcf for the same week. During the same week in 2025, inventories declined by 182 Bcf, so the deficit to year-ago storage levels was also narrowed with today’s reported data.
