Natural gas futures were modestly higher on Monday, with price action remaining subdued across the forward curve. November 2026 gained 3 cents to settle near $3.07 per MMBtu, while the full Winter 2026-27 strip added 3 cents to finish around $3.25. Summer 2027 edged up just a penny to $2.93 per MMBtu. Despite Monday’s small rebound, most of the curve remains lower than week-ago levels, with Winter 2026-27 down 9 cents and Summer 2027 off 8 cents over that span.
There was little in the way of fresh fundamental news to drive the market, leaving prices to consolidate following last week’s selloff. With the prompt month holding just above $3.00 and winter pricing still near multi-year lows, the market appears to be settling into a wait-and-see posture as traders look for clearer signals from early-season weather forecasts, increasing storage builds, and production heading deeper into October.
